On January 6, the School of International Education held an entrance video test by video link for the first batch of international students who passed the preliminary qualification test for the Spring 2021 class.
The test was held in the conference room of the School of International Education, where administrators from the School of Admissions, Teaching and Learning, the School of Academic Engineering and relevant faculty from the School of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Engineering and the School of Life Sciences worked together to test the students. The students in this cohort applied to study in undergraduate pharmacy, undergraduate nursing and postgraduate clinical courses. The test subjects were English, Chemistry and Biology, and the students were also given a comprehensive assessment of their high school studies, personal qualities, motivation to study in China and professional background. Nineteen students from 14 countries, including Bangladesh, Pakistan, Morocco, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Angola and Algeria, took the test and 15 passed.
Since we started the entrance video test in the admissions process for international students to China in 2019, we have successfully organised 11 video tests so far, with 167 students tested and a pass rate of 78%.
The College attaches great importance to the education of international students and strictly controls the quality of students. From the examination of international students' admission materials to the video test and entrance examination, the College selects and strictly controls the students at all levels to absorb high-quality students, so as to lay a good foundation for ensuring the quality of international students' cultivation.
