The School of International Education Holds a Keynote Speech on How to Be a Good Doctor in Twenty-first Century

On the afternoon of June 18, 2015, the School of International Education holds a keynote speech on How to Be a Good Doctor in Twenty-first Century on the third floor classroom, and Vice Dean Zhao Xiuxia, staff of teaching office and foreign teachers attended and watched the speech contest. To be fair, the 8 judges come from different disciplines and 8 students from different grades. In addition, nearly two hundred students come to watch and cheer for the players.

The speech contest is divided into two parts: the preliminary and final contestants, no limit in grade and enrollment. In the first stage, more than 30 students submit their 5-minute speech video to judges. After screening, 13 excellent players were selected to enter the final competition. All participating players made full preparations before the game, so their speech content are rich and wonderful, which include the multiple definition of the term doctor, doctors’ duty change caused by the development of modern science and technology and transform of doctors occupation moral standards. After fierce competition, Aarshdeep Kaur from 2012 Autumn C won the first prize.

The theme speech contest not only stimulates students’ interest and enthusiasm in learning of clinical medicine, but also improves the exchanges and friendship between students, and promotes the students’ thinking so as to lay the foundation for being a qualified doctor in the future.
