Application Procedure
I. Eligibility for Application
1. Non-Chinese citizens holding valid foreign ordinary passports;
If the applicant is a Chinese citizen who has immigrated to a foreign country, the application will
be strictly reviewed in accordance with the "Higher Education Quality Standards for International
Students Studying in China (Trial Implementation)";
2. In good health, between 18 and 25 years old; for applicants pursuing a master's degree, the age
limit can be appropriately relaxed;
3. No criminal record, willing to abide by the laws, regulations, and relevant management
regulations of the People's Republic of China and our university;
4. Have a high school diploma or above; applicants for postgraduate studies must have a
bachelor's degree or above;
II. Application Materials
1. Scanned copy of passport valid for at least 18 months;
2. Valid health certificate issued by a local hospital within the past 6 months;
3. Valid Certificate of No Criminal Record issued by the local public security bureau within the
past 6 months.
For applicants who have studied in Chinese universities, this certificate can be provided by the
current school.
4. Proof of highest education degree/qualification.
If the applicant is a student or has been employed, he/she should also submit a study certificate
(transfer certificate) issued by the applicant's school or employment certificate issued by the
employer. The non-Chinese or English version should be attached with a notarized Chinese or
English translation; Bachelor's degree or above obtained outside mainland China must be certified
by China Scholarship Council;
5. For applicants of English-taught majors, the high school graduation exam total score should be
at least B level (score 60%-70%) or above, with an English subject score of at least 65% of the fullscore, or an IELTS certificate with a score of 6.5 or above. For applicants of Chinese-taught
majors, an HSK certificate is also required.
Non-Chinese or English documents must be accompanied by a notarized Chinese or English
translation.
6. Proof of Financial Support :At least deposit certificate of US $5000;
7.Self-introduction video: self-introduction of at least 1 minute, Chinese or English;
8.Scanned documents of economic guarantor and contact person in China;
9.The following materials are required for graduate application: undergraduate / master report, resume in Chinese and English, personal statement and expert recommendation letter.
Note: All the above materials should be uploaded to the system during the initial application, and the original copies should be submitted during the registration. The applicant promises that all the materials are true and correct. Once false information, all applicants will not be admitted will be responsible.
III. Admission Requirements
1. The application materials must be truthful and accurate, and the applicant must meet the
qualifications for application.
2. The applicant must pass the video test organized by our school.
3. The applicant must pay the registration fee and entrance deposit within seven days of receiving
the pre-admission notice.4. The applicant must report to the school on the time specified in the pre-admission notice.
5. The applicant must pass the medical examination organized by our school.
6. The applicant must pass the entrance examination organized by our school.
For medical majors: English, physics, chemistry, biology, Chinese (for Chinese-taught majors).
For Chinese preparatory majors: Chinese language proficiency, English, comprehensive quality.
7. The applicant must pay all tuition fees, insurance fees, accommodation fees, and other related
fees.
8. The applicant must not violate Chinese laws and school rules and regulations.
IV. Admission Process
1. The applicant should upload his/her application materials onto the "International Student Online
Application System" of the International Education College of Shandong First Medical University.
The student portal is http://zhgl.sdfmu.edu.cn/student/login, and the agency portal is
http://zhgl.sdfmu.edu.cn/agent/login. The application period is from January 1, 2023 to April 1,
2022 (for spring semester) and from June 1, 2023 to September 1, 2022 (for fall semester).
2. Within 10 working days after successful submission of all application materials, our university
will review the materials and notify applicants who meet the requirements to participate in our
university's video test.
3. The university will send the notice of paying the enrollment deposit and the electronic
pre-admission letter to applicants who pass the video test.
4. Within 7 days of receiving the pre-admission letter, applicants must pay a non-refundable RMB
400 registration fee to Shandong First Medical University, as well as the enrollment deposit
specified in the letter.
If the applicant can register on time after paying the enrollment deposit, the deposit will be
converted into part of the tuition for that year. If the applicant is unable to register on time and
provide official proof of inability to do so due to embassy refusal, the enrollment deposit will be
refunded.
5. The applicant should scan and send the remittance of registration fees and enrollment deposit,
which states the applicant's information, to the email address sdfmuadmissions@163.com.6. After confirming the receipt of the registration fees and deposit, the school will send
pre-admission notice and "Application Form for Foreign Students' Visa" to the applicant's contact
address and phone number provided in the application system.
7. The school will organize a physical examination for the admitted applicants. If the examination
is failed, the applicant will not be admitted and must bear the related expenses to return to their
home country. The enrollment deposit will be refunded by the school.
8. The school will organize an entrance examination. If unsuccessful, the applicant will not be
admitted and must bear the related expenses to return to their home country. The enrollment
deposit will be refunded by the school. For graduate students, an interview with the supervisor in
the desired field of study is necessary before admission can be granted.
9. The applicant must pay all fees within a week after the start of the semester, obey Chinese laws,
as well as school rules and regulations. If violating any of these, the applicant will not be admitted,
must bear the related expenses to return to their home country, and the enrollment deposit will not
be refunded by the school.
10. The school will officially enroll the admitted applicant as a foreign student in our university
upon meeting the above conditions.
