In order to better carry out the education and teaching management of international students in the new semester and effectively improve the quality and level of online and offline courses of the school, School of International Education held the “first class” in C3019, the smart classroom in the South Teaching Building, on the morning of March 2nd. Du Baoxuan, deputy secretary of party General Branch of School, Du Wei, vice dean and students attended “the first lesson of the new term”.

Guo Xiucheng, deputy chief physician of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Shandong First Medical University and Chinese orthopedic aid expert, integrated his experience of clinical work and international orthopedic aid in Seychelles on behalf of the Chinese medical aid team into the first lesson of the new semester using the courseware with rich pictures. A fascinating and unique first lesson was explained to students from four aspects: the comparison of Chinese and foreign medical work, long-term medical learning experience, learning during the pandemic and future prospects. When it came to the current outbreak, Mr. Guo encouraged students to face the epidemic strongly, study actively , practice earnestly, and build up excellent skills. After class, the students consulted zealously, asking the teacher about the ideal of life and the original intention of adhering to the medical profession.

Mr. Guo’s sharing ended in warm applause, and international students expressed their desire and benefited a lot from his words. Zaki, a student from 2020 Spring Batch Pharmacy Section, said that Mr. Guo’s sharing strengthened her confidence in the field of medicine, and shewas looking forward to having more opportunities to communicate with Mr. Guo in the future. “An inch of time is an inch of gold, an inch of gold can not buy an inch of time.” Zaki said that she would cherish every minute and every second to study hard. At the same time, she would protect herself well and take scientific epidemic prevention.
