In order to better carry out the education and teaching management of international students in the new semester, effectively improve the quality and level of online and offline courses in the college, and enhance students' awareness and ability of active learning and in-depth learning, the Institute of International Education held the "First Class Opening" activity in Tencent classroom at 19: 00 on September 1st. Sun Baoliang, Dean of the College, Andy Lee, Secretary of the Party General Branch, and Wei Ho Tu, Vice President of the College, all listened to the "First Lesson of School Opening". The first class of the term was presided over by Du Baoxuan, deputy secretary of the Party General Branch. 68 international students participated in online learning activities.

Teacher Wang Hong, an associate professor in the School of Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Engineering of Shandong First Medical University (Shandong Academy of Medical Sciences), with the title of "Autonomous Learning and Deep Learning under the Background of' internet plus'", explained a wonderful "first lesson" around three themes with the help of illustrated courseware. The three themes are: what is student-centered, why autonomous learning and deep learning should be carried out, and how to do it. Teacher Wang Hong emphasized that under the background of "internet plus", students need to change their thinking mode, conduct autonomous learning and deep learning, and pay attention to their own development.

Teacher Wang Hong's sharing was warmly praised by international students, and both online and offline students benefited a lot. Yi Si, a student in the pharmacy class in Spring 2020, said that Miss Wang taught us some important topics about learning and thinking ability. Her sharing made us deeply realize that student-centered is not about students doing whatever they want, but about students' development and growth. We strengthened our determination and confidence to improve our autonomous learning ability and deep learning ability, found the driving force of learning, formed the habit of lifelong learning, and became better ourselves in the future.
