School of International Education Holds Lecture Competition for Teachers of International Students

In order to encourage teachers to take an active part in the teaching of international students, and establish a platform for learning, exchanging and displaying teaching style, School of International Education holds lecture competition for teachers of international students in International Students’ classroom A1003 on the afternoon of November 25, 2016. The lecture competition is hosted by Office of Academic Affairs and co-hosted by School of International Education, and 13 teachers from Affiliated Hospital of Taishan Medical University, School of Basic Medical Sciences, School of Life Sciences and School of Pharmaceutical Sciences attend the final competition.

The final result is based on scores of teaching plans and live classes. When teaching alive in the classroom, all teachers have attracted judges, honored guests and students through vivid teaching, excellent teaching skills and fluent English. Interaction part is the highlight of the competition as teachers can answer questions in English from students and judges, which tests teachers’ knowledge, spoken English and strain capacity. The whole competition is held in English, which shows the internationalization level of our university.

Deputy director of Teaching Affairs Office Ma Min has delivered a speech before the competition and winner of last year has given her comments after the competition.

Two teachers have won first prizes, and three teachers have won second prizes and 4 teachers third prizes and 4 Award of Excellence. Director of Teaching Affairs Office Xu Hui has presented awards to the first-prize winners Guo Guili from School of Basic Medical Sciences and Gao Shan from School of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

The competition have shown teachers’ advanced teaching ideas, new teaching methods and teaching styles with personal characteristics, which represents our achievements of teachers’ training and will promote the strategy of “Driven by Internationalization”.
