TSMU Won First Prize in 3rd Regional Physiology Quiz in China

On May 6th, the 3rd Regional Physiology Quiz in China was held in Xuzhou Medical University. After three rounds of fierce competition, our student participants from School of International Education won the first prize.

This Regional Physiology Quiz in China was supported by the Organizing Committee of International Inter-Medical School Physiology Quiz and hosted by Xuzhou Medical University, aiming to select participating teams for the IMSPQ. 20 participating teams in this regional quiz came from universities including The Second Military Medical University, Central South University, Anhui Medical University, Jiangsu University and etc. This was the first time TSMU took part in this event. With the painstaking work of teachers including Ms. Shang Feifei from School of Basic Medical Sciences, Dr. Bikesh Kumar Pandey and Dr. Shahrukh Bin Rahiq from School of International Education, TSMU team comprised of 10 international students from School of International Education gave an extraordinary performance in the competition and won the second place of the first prize. TSMU will send a team to the 15th International Inter-Medical School Physiology Quiz which will be held in Malaysia in August.

Inter-Medical School Physiology Quiz or IMSPQ, initiated at the University of Malaya, is a team-based medical physiology quiz competition designed for undergraduate medical students from universities around the world. The program focuses on conceptual physiological questions and also clinical physiology. Conducted in English, the quiz requires student participants’ great proficiency in the mastery of medical physiology, the language English and their on-spot performance as well. IMSPQ was initiated in the year 2003. Now, in August 2017, at the 15th IMSPQ, the IMSPQ has mushroomed and grown into one of the most influential international medical competition events in Asia.
