On October 26, Dean Sun Baoliang and Vice Dean Zhao Xiuxia go to visit Liyu of Daolang Town to attend the opening ceremony of “Chinese Cultural Experiences Bases for International Students”. At the ceremony, Dean Sun Baoliang and Secretary of CPC Branch from Daolang Town unveil the nameplate. Some leaders from Daolang Town governments and Liyu and international student representatives take part in the activity.

Liyu village is located in the west of Taishan Mountain, and has 230 households with a total population of 646 people. The whole village has a forest area of more than 5000 mu and the forest coverage rate reaches 95%. Because of its rich rural tourism resources and historical sites, it has won the title of" pilot village of national rural tourism", "hospitality Shandong--the most beautiful village" and other honorary titles, and in 2015, Baisi home-stay lists the top 10 of home-stays with Chinese characteristics. School of International Education from Taishan Medical University establishes Chinese culture experience base in the valley village, and integrates feeling, learning and tourism, which can make students fully experience the rural customs, broad and profound traditional Chinese culture, unique charm of traditional culture and modern culture represented by Confucian culture and improve Chinese language proficiency and the understanding and cognition of Chinese culture.

The construction of cultural experience base of foreign students in China is a systematic cultural project which meets the needs of national strategic development. According to the 2010 “Studying in China” issued by Ministry of Education, China should form a group of universities and high level schools with distinctive features of education, and cultivate a large number of high quality students who know China and will be friends of China. The construction of School of International Educationstudents' cultural experience base will play a positive role in promoting Chinese traditional culture, and lay a solid foundation for future activities. In the future, School of International Education will depend on the cultural connotation and geographical advantages, conduct the base construction, cultural experience teaching more actively so as to let more foreign students to understand and experience Chinese culture, promote cultural quality.
